ProComm Alaska inherited a rich history and years of investment in people and equipment when it purchased PMC Telecommunications in 2000.

PMCT itselfwas a merger of Barrow Cable and Axis Communications, a Motorola Service Shop, that were merged by Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC) when CEO Gary Peters was hired by ASRC to "raise the bar" in company performance and technical expertise. He was able to earn the prestigious Motorola Pinnacle Club Award for Excellence in both 1998 and 1999. ProComm Alaska continues to earn this award.

Since that time the company has become a preferred vendor for state and municipal RF projects and major corporations such as BP, Conoco Phillips, Alyeska, MEA, MTA, GCI Nabors Drilling, Cominco, Fairbanks Gold and Red Dog Mines, Lynden and Carlile Transportation, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, and other large corporations.
